Hidden in Plain Sight

As I go about my life, I am always looking — not consciously, but looking — and letting my eye settle on some small thing of interest. It might be a spent flower or a bit of mold, a robin's egg or an edge of copper gleaming in the sun. I stop and observe and usually take the treasure back to my studio where I really look, using the macro lens of my camera to help me see the details, shining lights to better illuminate or color the image and taking many photos.

Then, using Photoshop, I again look to see what inspires me and let myself creatively play with the image until I find a resolution. The images might seem eclectic but they all are the result of my intuitively looking and finding.
